EAA-Scan is built and run by Simon Catania.

I build compliance tooling for web agencies — currently focused on the European Accessibility Act, which has applied to consumer-facing digital services across the EU since June 2025.

Why the reports are reviewed by a person

Automated testing catches roughly 30–40% of WCAG issues. That's a useful first pass, not an assessment. A tool can flag a missing alt attribute; it can't tell you whether the reading order of a checkout makes sense, or whether an alt text is accurate rather than merely present.

So every report goes through a person before it reaches you: false positives removed, priorities chosen, the summary written in language your client can act on. That's what makes the document defensible — and it's why delivery takes 24 hours rather than 60 seconds.

What this is not

This is not a certification service, and nothing issued here certifies conformance. An assessment documents the state of a site against EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 Level AA on a given date. Legal conformity remains the responsibility of the site owner — anyone telling you otherwise is selling something they can't deliver.
